One of the most stunning moments of Steve McQueen's SHAME, is when Carey Mulligan, at this point still somewhat of a murky enigma in the film, takes the stage at Manhattan's Boom Boom Room and sings a moody rendition of the Frank Sinatra/Liza Minnelli classic "New York, New York."
